TAI will be releasing his ever-buzzing collaboration with Steve Aoki next month on Dim Mak Records, and after a successful remix competition for the Lose Yourself EP, TAI has put together a big time Electro mix featuring a plethora of heavy hitting tracks from Bart B More, Crookers, Afrojack, and more. He’s also included a rework of ‘Lyposuct’ that I’m particularly fond of towards the beginning of the mix, so make sure to pay close attention to that one. Download below! Continue Reading

For you bassheads out there that wanted a bit more bump and grunge to the thumpy new track from Kanye & co., here’s a Dubstep remix of ‘Mercy’ from JAM3S K3NN3DY that will satisfy your needs. James is an up and comer working as a sound engineer for Interscope Records here in Los Angeles, and after opening up for Steve Aoki and Datsik on the Deadmeat Tour this spring as well as for Modestep‘s recent tour of the US, it’s obvious that his DJ skills are being valued as much as his profession in the studio. Check out more of his portfolio on Soundcloud and download this beast below. Continue Reading

It was fleeting like a hot hand at the blackjack table, and just like that we were back home in Los Angeles wondering how a hectic weekend in the desert went by so fast. It was Thursday, and I had the grandiose idea of starting the weekend off by catching Richie Hawtin at Drai’s, a dark club in the underbelly of the Las Vegas Strip that played host to some of the biggest names in Techno over the weekend. Word was he wasn’t starting until 4AM, so that left some time for a quick pitstop at Benny Benassi at the Cosmopolitan Hotel’s Marquee Nightclub. Marquee is what Vegas is all about. Scantily glad girls and even more scantily clad employees, and enough energy in the air to get everyone through till morning even without however many Redbull vodkas they may have in their system. 19-year-old Electro House producer, Comic Strips, is undoubtedly on the rise. Since his first EP, That’s My Sh!!, was released on Rot10 Musik at the end of 2010, Comic Strips aka Tom Holroyd has seen his originals supported by the likes of Mr. Aoki and Spencer & Hill, remixed by our buddy Subvader, and played by DJs and fans across the globe. Now a member of the Burn The Fire and Bazooka families, Comic Strips continues to release Electro jams with ease as evident in this firing new original aptly titled, ‘Wanna Party,’ which I’m sure he’ll be bringing out to his SxSW sets in Austin this Wednesday at Madison and Saturday at Republic Live — as well as SnowMont in Killington at the end of March.

More and more it seems as if bringing the party from the club to your living rooms and offices is the thing to do in dance music. I myself am guilty of having a little office dance party from time to time when Boiler Room gets on a heater.

Dim Mak boss Steve Aoki will be doing just that tonight as he plays to a packed house at Roseland Ballroom in New York City. The set will capture Aoki’s sold-out show on his biggest tour ever, supporting his debut album for Ultra Music/Dim Mak Records Wonderland, and will feature an appearance by Lil Jon along with surprise special guests. If you’re not going out tonight you can tune in at 930PM Pacific/1230AM Eastern by clicking that link or just reading on after the jump, where we’ll have the YouTube stream embedded right here on GDD™ just because we love you.

The real question is, how long will it be before we’re not going to the club and just sitting on the couch partying with our favorite DJs?
